Natural environments encourage imaginative play and creativity. Children can invent games, build structures using natural materials like sticks and stones, and pretend to be explorers or woodland creatures. This imaginative play fosters creativity, problem-solving skills, and social development as they collaborate with peers in their play.
Squirrels
Our Squirrels room is play-based learning which provides opportunities for children to actively engage in the learning process, make choices, and develop their interests and abilities.
Badgers
Our Badger rooms focus on promoting social and emotional development. We include activities that focus on emotional regulation, self-awareness, empathy, conflict resolution skills and teamwork.
Owls
Our Owl rooms provide a comprehensive and engaging approach to support the growth and development of preschool-aged children. It focuses on building upon the foundational skills and knowledge acquired during the earlier years and preparing children for the transition to formal schooling.
This is our all-year-round room, funding will be spread across the entire year.
Our Preschool Rooms
Children have the opportunity to explore and engage with the natural world, promoting physical activity and a sense of wonder and curiosity. Our curriculum integrates environmental education seamlessly into daily activities, instilling a love and appreciation for nature from a young age. Moreover, the tranquil setting of our preschool rooms promotes calmness and mindfulness, contributing to improved focus and emotional well-being. Through hands-on experiences and outdoor play, children develop vital skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration, laying a strong foundation for future academic and personal success.
Health and Nutrition
We take special pride in excellent nutrition.
Good nutrition is something that we hold in high regard. All our meals are homemade, simple, yet adventurous and are packed with enough energy to ensure the children can be active and happy all day. We have a daily in-house chef that cooks onsite for all our children (Thriftwood, Norseywoods & Wickford preschool and nurseries only).
We want to teach children more about healthy lifestyles and encourage the adoption of healthy eating and active living. We love food variety, eating in the forest, working in our allotment, making homemade cakes for cold days and deliciously warming hot chocolate around a campfire.
Of course, some children have varied tastes and tolerances; we cater for all dietary requirements and have a robust system in place to ensure each child safely receives the right food.

Treehouse Funding Information
For each of the two-year-old, 15 hours and 30 hours funding categories, we have funding packages in place which give you options for how you can access your funding with us.
Funding is provided by the Government so children can access high-quality early years education. However, this is not intended for, and does not cover the cost of;
Meals and/or snacks
Consumables – eg., nappies, wipes, sun cream, any other consumable used etc
Additional activities – eg., trips, outings, forest school etc
These costs will appear on your invoices as a consumable charge. Additional hours taken outside of your funded hours will also be chargeable.
There is an option under each funding category to choose a completely free-funded place, with no consumable charge and no additional hours, should you wish to do so.
We have an experienced admin team who will be able to talk you through the different options.
